Somatic Coaching

Somatic is a word meaning “of the body”.

Many of us walk around as if we’re just ‘brain-taxis’, i.e. that our heads hold all the wisdom & importance, and our bodies are largely ignored other than the obvious needs (food, sleep etc).

In Somatic Coaching, you are (1) carefully led into deeper awareness within your own body, (2) guided to tap into tangible felt-sense empowerment in making positive life changes, and (3) given supportive tools to put into practice in your daily life.

Somatic Coaching can be also understood in this way: what Talk Therapy does for the mind, Somatic Work does for the body.

Somatic Coaching is very complementary to practically all other healing modalities, including more conventional therapy. Many people choose to see a traditional therapist and have a somatic coach.

Some things that Somatic Coaching can help you with:

It is important to understand Somatic Coaching as an adjunct to, not a replacement for, licensed mental health care.

We recommend incorporating both into your life for optimum mental and emotional health.

About Megan Hart

Megan received her BA in Psychology & Ethnobotany in 2005 and went on to work for a Hypnotherapy company for 11+ years. She knew from a young age that she wanted to help people heal, evolve and live deeply fulfilling lives, while first healing much of her own codependency, self-abandonment, people-pleasing, dissociation & disembodiment.Over time she started noticing substantial gaps in the fields of psychology & hypnotherapy. Concurrently on her own spiritual journey, Megan explored many avenues of spirituality, however never quite satisfied with the subtle rejections of self that many religions carry or the overt emotional bypassing that is common in our modern world.

Through a series of synchronicities, Megan discovered the world of embodiment. Quickly she realized that somatic work ‘plugged’ the gaps that were missing in much of traditional psychology, religion & hypnotherapy.

Megan is known for her nurturing demeanor, artfully weaving together the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical bodies in her work. Through somatic techniques, she gently-yet-profoundly empowers her clients to uncover the answers they are seeking within themselves.

Megan also teaches yoga (trained at True Self Yoga) and is a practitioner of Nondual Saiva Tantra. She’s a lover of nature and currently learning Flamenco for fun.
